In John 1, Philip had just had his own encounter with Jesus. And the very next thing he did was go find his friend Nathanael. He didn’t wait until he had all the answers. He didn’t wait until he fully understood what was happening. He just went and got his person.
And when Nathanael finally came face to face with Jesus — skeptical question and all — Jesus didn’t disqualify him for it. He looked at him and called out his character, not his credentials. He spoke what was true about who Nathanael actually was, not the label someone else had placed on him.
That’s what this episode is about.

I share something I’ve never fully put into words before — a conversation I had with God in the darkest season after losing my mom and waking up from a coma with no memory of those four days. I was angry. I had questions. And the answers He gave me weren’t the ones I expected.
One of them stopped me completely.
I asked God why I survived when my mom didn’t. And He said:
“Why not you?”
That question changed everything.
