There’s a specific kind of tired that doesn’t come from doing too much.
It’s the tired of being misread. Of being around people — family, friends, even a room full of people — who still don’t actually know you underneath. So at some point you stop expecting it. Even though deep down, you still want it.
Episode 3 of I Saw You — What Are You Doing Under Your Fig Tree? — is about what it means to be known. Not liked. Not needed. Known.
In John 1:47, Jesus looks at Nathanael and says something so precise, so intimate, that Nathanael’s only response is: “How do you know me?”
Not “you don’t know me.” Not deflection. Just — how?
And that one word reveals everything. When something said about you is false, you deny it. When something said about you is true, some part of you already knows it. Your response isn’t a challenge. It’s a question.
Jesus didn’t give Nathanael a compliment. He gave him a declaration. A compliment reacts to what’s on the surface. A declaration testifies to what’s already known. And you can only declare something about someone with that kind of accuracy if you’ve already been present with who they actually are — not who they’re presenting.

Last year I did an exercise with my colleagues at church. Everyone had a piece of paper taped to their back in the shape of a heart, and people walked around writing words to describe them. When I read mine, one word stopped me completely.
Victorious.
I had never heard that word used to describe me before. But I didn’t question it. I didn’t push back. I just felt it — and immediately thought about everything I’ve been through. And then I wanted to know who wrote it. Because whoever did had been present enough with my story to see something I hadn’t even fully claimed for myself.
That’s the difference between being liked and being known.
